Sam provides counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. With a background in social work, mental health, and human sexuality, Sam's professional interests are providing trauma-informed care for disadvantaged and underserved populations. Sam's background experience is in sexual prevention and education, having worked in community-based and correctional settings in the Twin Ports area on issues of domestic violence, sex trafficking, mental health, and support groups. Sam's approach to therapy is to affirm and empower clients through a trusted relationship that is free of judgment. She enjoys using many treatment approaches including harm reduction, CBT, DBT, ART, and motivational interviewing (MI). Coming from a trauma-focused lens, she aims to help adults discover skills and improve coping strategies to better respond to emotions associated with common stressors or traumatic events. Additionally, she is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
