My name is Jamie, and I am a Clinical Counseling Intern at Birch & Pine Counseling. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Wisconsin–Superior and expect to graduate in May 2027.
I believe counseling works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. My goal is to create a warm, client-centered environment where we can work together toward the changes you hope to make. I often think of therapy as two copilots navigating a journey together—clients bring invaluable knowledge of their own lives and experiences, while I offer support and evidence-based tools to help along the way.
My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational-Cultural Therapy, and Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory. These frameworks help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, build meaningful connections, and strengthen confidence in themselves. I have a particular interest in trauma-informed care and work with concerns such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
Alongside providing research-supported interventions, I want every client to know that they are welcome exactly as they are. My goal is to offer a safe, supportive space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves while exploring their experiences and working toward positive change.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my three fur babies and expressing my creativity through cooking and trying new recipes.
