Ashley Rhoads founded Birch and Pine Counseling to provide accessible mental health services in her hometown of Cloquet, Minnesota. Her vision was to create a welcoming and down-to-earth environment where both staff and clients feel understood and supported.
With extensive training in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), Ashley is well-equipped to address a wide range of mental health concerns. She also specializes in Rule 25 assessments and the treatment of chemical health issues, with significant experience working with women and children who have faced domestic violence, homelessness, and human trafficking.
Ashley’s diverse experience spans various settings, including juvenile corrections, school-based services, non-profits, and private practice. She enjoys working with adolescents and adults from all walks of life, known for her relatable, humorous, and grounded approach.
As a Hispanic female, Ashley is deeply committed to culturally specific advocacy, striving to break down barriers for minority populations to access mental health care and promoting social justice and equality.
