Austin is a U.S. Navy veteran with a passion for helping others and strengthening communities. He currently serves as a Social Work Intern and Administrative Assistant at Birch & Pine Counseling while pursuing his Bachelor of Social Work degree at the University of Minnesota Duluth, along with a minor in Environmental and Outdoor Education.
Austin plans to continue his education to obtain clinical licensure and pursue a career in psychotherapy. His commitment to service and personal growth is reflected in both his academic journey and his professional experiences.
In addition to his work at Birch & Pine Counseling, Austin is a professional dog trainer with Wolf Den Retrievers and has worked extensively with many of the dogs in our office. His experience working with animals has strengthened his understanding of patience, connection, and relationship-building.
Having spent much of his military service overseas, Austin developed a deep appreciation for different cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives. He values meaningful human connection and strives to create a warm, welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable and supported throughout their experience at Birch & Pine Counseling.
