Austin is a U.S. Navy veteran with a passion for helping others and strengthening communities. He currently serves as a Social Work Intern and Administrative Assistant at Birch & Pine Counseling while pursuing his Bachelor of Social Work degree at the University of Minnesota Duluth, along with a minor in Environmental and Outdoor Education.
Austin plans to continue his education to obtain clinical licensure and pursue a career in psychotherapy. His commitment to service and personal growth is reflected in both his academic journey and his professional experiences.
In addition to his work at Birch & Pine Counseling, Austin is a professional dog trainer and has worked extensively with many of the dogs in our office. His experience working with animals has strengthened his understanding of patience, connection, and relationship-building.
Having spent much of his military service overseas, Austin developed a deep appreciation for different cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives. He values meaningful human connection and strives to create a warm, welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable and supported throughout their experience at Birch & Pine Counseling.
